Review: US Airways Credit Cards

us-airways-credit-cardNOTE: US Airways merged with American Airlines and all credit cards are now under the American Airlines name. The review below is for cards that are no longer offered. Go here to see our review of American Airlines AAdvantage credit cards.

US Airways, in partnership with Barclays Bank, offers 2 credit cards — a consumer card and a business credit card — that allow you to earn US Airways Dividend Miles on every purchase. Our overview / review of each card is below, along with a link to apply via the card’s online application:

The US Airways Premier World MasterCard is probably the card most consumers would choose. It offers 2 miles per dollar on all US Airways purchases and 1 mile per dollar on all other purchases. You get 40,000 bonus miles after you use the card for the first time (and after the annual fee has been paid). You also get other perks such as your first bag checked free when ticket has been purchased with the card, a yearly companion certificate and “Zone 2” priority boarding. The card has an annual fee of $89.

The US Airways Business MasterCard offers 2 miles per dollar on all US Airways purchases and 1 mile per dollar on all other purchases. You get 25,000 bonus miles after you use the card for the first time (and after the annual fee has been paid). Other than the chance to earn free flights or discounts, the other major perk is that you get your first bag checked free and you can also have the first bag checked free for up to 4 other people who are flying with you. The card has an annual fee of $89.
