Regional department store chain Younkers, in partnership with Comenity Bank, offers a credit card that allows you to earn reward points toward future Younkers purchases. Our overview / review of the Younkers credit card is below:

The Younkers credit card is accepted at Younkers and also its sister stores throughout the country: Bon-Ton, Bergner’s, Boston Store, Carson Pirie Scott, Elder-Beerman, and Herberger’s. This is a fairly limited acceptance, so a question to ask is: Do I shop at Younkers often enough for it to be worth opening up another credit line?

Maybe you do. If so, here’s what the Younkers credit card offers:

  • A $20 rewards card for every $200 spent with the card in a calendar year. You can use the $20 card toward purchases of $50 or more. (You can also save rewards cards and use them together.)
  • Chances to double your rewards based on special monthly offers.
  • A birthday discount each year.
  • Other cardholder-only discount offers.

The rewards are good, provided you ALWAYS pay off your complete credit card balance each month. If you don’t, you will pay a very high interest rate on those purchases — 24.99%, which is really high! Any rewards you receive from this card will be essentially canceled out by the interest you pay if you carry a balance.

You can only apply for the Younkers credit card inside a Younkers store — there is no online application.
