Kids clothing retailer The Children’s Place, in partnership with Comenity Capital Bank, offers a credit card that allows you to get some nice savings and rewards, but watch that interest rate! Our overview / review of the card is below:
The first thing to know about The Children’s Place credit card is that it can only be used at Children’s Place, meaning it has limited acceptance. Opening up new credit lines can hurt your credit score, especially if your credit history is shaky, so you want to careful about getting new credit cards ties to a single retailer.
That said, The Children’s Place credit card does offer a rewards program that could be good for the frequent shopper. It offers you 2 points per dollar spent with the card, and every 100 points gets you a $5 reward toward a future purchase. So, in most cases, you get a $5 reward for every $50 charged, which is pretty generous.
In addition, the card offers these perks:
- 30% your first purchase with the card
- Free shipping on online orders
- 25%-off coupons for each child’s birthday (up to 4 kids, must register birth dates to get this)
Finally, you’ll want to notice the card’s 26.24% interest rate, which is pretty terrible, even for a store credit card. Do not get this card if you have a habit of carrying balances, or the interest you pay will essentially cancel out any rewards you receive.
