Review: Christopher & Banks Credit Card

Women’s clothing retailer Christopher & Banks, in partnership with Comenity Bank, offers a credit card that allows you to earn reward points toward future store purchases. Our overview / review of the card is below:

The first thing to know about this credit card is that it can only be used at Christopher & Banks stores, so it’s important to consider whether you are a frequent enough shopper here to justify opening a new credit line for it. Opening too many credit lines can hurt your credit score, at least temporarily, so opening a new card that can’t be used widely is something to carefully consider.

If you are a frequent Christopher & Banks shopper, you might already be aware of its Friendship Rewards program, or maybe you are already even part of it. With that program, you earn 10 points per dollar spent at Christopher & Banks, and you get a $10 rewards certificate toward a future store purchase every time you reach 2500 points. The C & B credit card enhances your reward and adds other perks, too.

Here’s what you get:

  • 15 points per dollar charged to the card.
  • 250 free points just for getting the card, plus 250 more if you aren’t already in the Friendship Rewards program.
  • 15% off your first purchase with the card immediately, plus another 15%-off coupon when your card arrives in the mail.
  • Free shipping on online orders made with the card.

It all sounds great, and maybe it will be, BUT you need to know one important thing — the interest rate on this card is 27.99%!! If you ever carry a balance on your credit card, that high interest rate will essentially cancel out any rewards you earn with this card. So, be careful.

That said, if you want to apply for the Christopher & Banks credit card, there is an online application here.
