Review: PGA Tour Credit Card

The PGA Tour offers fans a credit card that earns golf rewards and other rewards with each purchase. Our review/ overview of the PGA Tour card is below:

The PGA Tour Cash Rewards Mastercard from Bank of America offers a standard cash back rewards program but adds some goodies for golf fans. At the cash back level, you get:

  • 3% cash back on gas purchases as well as 2% cash back on grocery store and wholesale club purchases (on up to $2500 total in these purchase categories each calendar quarter)
  • 1% cash back on all other card purchases

If you use the card for at least $500 in purchases within the first 90 days, you’ll also get a $150 cash rewards bonus.

Now to the golf: As long as you use the card for at least $95 in purchases in the first 90 days, you will receive a voucher entitling you to 2 single-day grounds tickets to a PGA Tour event of your choice. This is a one-time-only offer for new cardholders, though — you won’t get this every year.

In addition, the PGA Tour credit card gives you access to private TPC golf courses and resorts nationwide. It’s not a freebie, but you get the chance to play courses that might otherwise be closed to you. And they promise “VIP treatment” at the courses. You’ll also get discounts on certain golf shop merchandise and green fees.

Everything else about the card is fairly standard. It offers an interest rate as low as 14.49% for those with good credit but as high as 24.49% if your credit is more shaky. You do get a 0% rate on purchases for the first year you have the card.

You can apply for the PGA credit card via this online application.
