Review: Neiman Marcus Credit Card

Neiman Marcus, in partnership with Capital One, offers a credit card good at Neiman Marcus stores as well as at its sister stores Bergdorf Goodman, Horchow, and Last Call.

The card offers an InCircle rewards program that gives you 2 points for every dollar charged with the card. Once you reach 10,000 points, you get a $100 Neiman Marcus gift card.

Given that reward structure, you would ordinarily need to spend $5000 to get to 10,000 points, which is a high hurdle to achieve in order to actually obtain a reward. And a reward that equals roughly 2% of your spend is not particularly generous. Therefore, this is a card that is difficult to get excited about.

If you are still interested, though, one thing that is good is the fact that you’ll get 5,000 InCircle points right off the bat when you open your card and make any size purchase with it on that same day. (You’ll still need to buy at least $2500 in other Neiman Marcus stuff to get your first $100 gift card, though.)

Another thing that makes us uncomfortable about the Neiman Marcus credit card is the interest rate — 27.49%!! If you EVER carry a balance on your credit cards, you don’t want this one. The interest you pay will essentially cancel out the rewards you receive.

However, if you always pay off your cards and you want those rewards, you can apply online for the Neiman Marcus credit card with this application.
