Review: Lane Bryant Credit Card

lane-bryant-logoPlus size retailer Lane Bryant offers a credit card in partnership with Comenity Bank that allows you to buy on credit and earn Lane Bryant rewards plus other perks. Our overview / review of the card is below:

First off, you should know that the Lane Bryant credit card can only be used at Lane Bryant as well as at sister store Catherines. This limited acceptance is a strike against the card — opening a new credit line can hurt your credit score, especially if you have a shaky credit history, and opening new credit with limited acceptance such as this may not be worth it.

If you have good credit and aren’t worried about the effect of opening a new credit line, the Lane Bryant credit card does have a rewards program that offers you:

  • 2 points per dollar on purchases at Lane Bryant and Lane Bryant Outlet stores, Cacique stores and the online versions of these stores.
  • 1 point per dollar at Catherines stores, or at
  • $20 off your first purchase with the card.

You’ll receive a $10 Lane Bryant reward for each 400 points you earn, and if you are a frequent shopper you could get upgraded to Premier or Platinum status, which gives you the opportunity to make your points worth more — for example, Platinum level shoppers get $15 for totaling 400 points.

The Lane Bryant credit card could be a good idea for you if you always pay off your credit cards regularly. However, it has a sky-high 27.24% interest rate, so don’t get it if you think you’ll ever carry a balance — the interest you’d pay would essentially cancel out the rewards you might earn.

With all that said, if you’d like to apply for the Lane Bryant credit card, you’ll find an online application here.
