The Dress Barn credit card is a store-only card (you can only use it at Dress Barn) that allows you to buy on credit and gives you some small perks. Whether it makes sense for you to get one depends on your tendency to pay off your credit card balances in full each month.
If you EVER carry a balance on your credit card, the Dress Barn credit card is a bad idea, mainly because of its 27.24% interest rate. In other words, if you don’t pay off the bill each month, you could pay over 25% extra on your purchases over a year’s time.
However, if you DO always pay off your credit cards each month, the Dress Barn credit card has a couple of perks that are only OK:
- You get 10% off your first purchase with the card.
- You get Dressbarn coupons mailed to your home.
- You get early invitations to Dress Barn sales events
Overall there’s not a lot to shout about here; you would probably do better with a general credit card with wide acceptance and a lower interest rate (assuming you have a decent credit history).
The Dress Barn credit card is issued in partnership with Comenity Bank. If you want to apply online, an application is here.
