Women’s clothing retailer H&M does not offer a standard store credit card.
If you have heard about an H&M credit card, it is most likely an H&M merchandise credit card, which really isn’t a credit card at all, but more like a gift card.
When people return H&M merchandise without a receipt or beyond the regular 30-day return period, a standard refund is not offered. Instead, a merchandise “credit card” is issued, with an amount loaded on to the card equal to the current selling price of the item returned.
You can then use the card to shop for other H&M merchandise, with the amount of new purchases debited from the amount on the card — just the way a gift card or debit card would work.
