After the zero percent period the rate changes back to the higher, “normal” rate offered by that card. Most 0% balance transfer offers do include a balance transfer fee.

  • BankAmericard MasterCard – You get a 0% interest rate on purchases and balance transfers for 15 months with this card, and you pay no balance transfer fee if you transfer that balance in the first 60 days. (Balances transferred after 60 days would have a 3% fee attached.) After the 0% period is over, your interest rate may be anywhere from 13.24% to 23.24% depending on your credit history.
  • Amex EveryDay Credit Card – Offers a 0% interest rate on purchases as well as balance transfers for 15 months and NO FEE on balance transfers. APR after 15 months: 14.24% to 25.24% depending on your credit.


  • Chase Slate Visa Credit Card – Offers a 0% interest rate on purchases AND on balance transfers for 15 months. If you do transfer a balance, you will want to do so in the first 60 days of having the card, when there is no balance transfer fee. After those first 60 days, there is a 5% fee on any balances transferred — for example, a transfer of $1000 would cost you $50 in fees. Interest rate after the first 15 months may be anywhere from 16.24% to 24.99% depending on your credit history.
  • US Bank Visa Platinum – Offers a 0% rate on purchases as well as balance transfers for 18 months. Note the 3% fee on transferred balances, however. Interest rate after 18 months ranges from 11.24% to 23.24% depending on your credit history.
  • Citi Simplicity MasterCard – Citibank credit card offers a 0% interest rate on purchases AND on balance transfers for 18 months. There is a 3% fee on any balances transferred. The interest rate after the first 21 months varies from 15.24% to 25.24% depending on your credit history.
  • Citi Diamond Preferred Card – Offers a 0% interest rate on purchases for 12 months and on balance transfers for 21 months. There is a 3% fee on any balances transferred. Interest rate 14.24% – 24.24% (depending on your credit history) after introductory period.
  • PNC Core Visa – Offers a 0% rate on both purchases and balance transfers for 15 months. There is a 3% balance transfer fee. Interest rate after 15 months may be as low as 11.24% but also as high as 21.24%, depending on your credit history.
  • Blue Cash Everyday from American Express – Offers a zero percent interest rate on purchases as well as balance transfers for 15 months. Balance transfers only qualify for the 0% rate if made within 60 days of account opening. Interest rate after 15 months will be anywhere from 16.24% to 25.24% depending on your credit history. 3% balance transfer fee.
  • Wells Fargo Platinum Visa – Get a 0% rate on purchases as well as balance transfers for 15 months. You’ll pay a 3% fee on balance transfers. Interest rate after the first 15 months ranges from 16.40% all the way up to 26.24% depending on your credit history.
  • KeyBank Latitude MasterCard – Offers a 0% interest rate on both purchases and balance transfers for 15 months. 4% balance transfer fee, though. 11.24% to 21.24% interest rate after the first 15 months, depending on your credit history.
  • Fifth Third Bank Truly Simple MasterCard – 0% rate on both purchases and balance transfers for 15 months. There is a 4% fee on balance transfers, though. Interest rate after 15 months varies from 13.24% to 24.24% depending on your credit history.
  • Chase Freedom Unlimited – Offers a 0% rate on purchases and balance transfers for 15 months, but pay special attention to the 5% balance transfer fee, the highest rate on balance transfers we’ve seen. Interest rate anywhere from 16.24% to 24.99% after 15 months, depending on your credit history.
  • Chase Freedom Credit Card – Offers a 0% interest rate on purchases AND on balance transfers for 15 months. There is a high 5% fee on any balances transferred. Interest rate after the first 15 months may be anywhere from 16.24% to 24.99% depending on your credit history.
  • Discover It – Offers a zero percent interest rate on purchases as well as balance transfers for 14 months. 3% fee on those balance transfers, though. 13.24% to 24.24% interest rate after the first year.
  • BankAmericard Cash Rewards Visa – Offers a 0% interest rate on purchases AND balance transfers for the first year. (Balances must be transferred within the first 60 days of having the card.) There is a 3% fee on any balances you transfer. Interest rate after 12 months could be as low as 14.24% or as high as 24.24% depending on your credit history.
  • State Farm Rewards Visa – Offers a 0% rate on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months, with a 3% fee on balance transfers. Interest rate of 14.49% to 21.49% after the 0% period ends, depending on your credit history.
